Perspective is everything.
It’s getting cold in NYC, and this morning, my car’s heat decided to quit on me.
At first, I was annoyed—seriously, now? Of all times? But as I sat there, shivering through my commute, it got me thinking: how many small comforts do I take for granted every day?
The warmth of a steamy shower after a long day. The smell of fresh coffee in the morning. A bed to crawl into at night.
These little things quietly make life better, but we barely notice them—until they’re gone.
So often, we make ourselves miserable by always chasing more. But here’s a thought: what if, just for today, we focused on what we have instead of what we don’t?
What if, instead of wishing for a bigger house, we were grateful for having a home? Instead of wanting more, we appreciated enough?
It’s a small shift, but it changes everything.
